Pepperl+Fuchs<\/a> has introduced new Pepperl+Fuchs BTC22 and BTC24 box thin clients for continuous operation in control rooms and laboratories. These compact devices are built for reliable, long-term use in industrial environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The BTC24 supports up to four 4K displays, while the BTC22 can connect to either two 4K or three full HD displays via USB-C ALT mode. Both models come with 8 GB DDR4 RAM \u2014with the BTC24 configured with two 4 GB dual-channel modules\u2014and include a third LAN port. This additional port enables separate network connections, such as to an external network alongside a redundantly connected DCS or MES system. These specifications make the devices suitable for use in control room environments requiring multi-display support and flexible network integration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The devices are designed for long-term availability of at least five years, helping organizations plan for consistent hardware support. They come with pre-installed thin client management software “VisuNet RM Shell 6,” based on Microsoft Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021, which provides tools for configuring remote connections such as RDP and VNC. Other supported software options include IGEL OS 12 and ThinManager.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The devices are built without moving parts, which enhances resistance to temperature variation and vibrations \u2014conditions typically found in industrial environments. Integrated cable locks help keep connections secure during operation and reduce the risk of unintentional disconnection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The BTC22 and BTC24 offer a compact design and flexible mounting options, including table, wall, VESA, or DIN rail mounting. These options are well-suited for laboratories and control rooms with limited space. The systems include centralized device management through the VisuNet Control Center and are built on reliable hardware to support operational efficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
